Key points and when to take action:

Travellers who have returned from category 1 countries: Travellers should self-isolate, even if they do not have any symptoms, and call NHS 111 to inform of recent travel.

Travellers who have returned from category 2 countries: Travellers do not need to undertake any special measures, but if they or anyone who they have travelled with develop symptoms they should self-isolate and call NHS 111.

The guidance for category 1 areas (specified areas in Italy, Iran, Daegu or Cheongdo (Republic of Korea), Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia and Vietnam) applies to individuals who returned from these specific areas on or after 19 February 2020. With half term skiing breaks in Italy at this time of year, this is the area causing the most concern within our schools.
