Disclosing and sharing information

Any information you provide will only be used for the reasons specified. We will only disclose your information to other parties in the following limited circumstance

  • Where we are legally obliged to do so eg law and regulatory authorities
  • Where there is a duty to disclose in the public interest
  • Where disclosure is necessary to protect our interest eg to prevent or detect crime and fraud
  • Where you give us permission to do so eg on an application form

The lawful bases for processing are set out in Article 6 of the GDPR

Consent: the individual has given clear consent for the school/Trust to process their personal data for a specific purpose.

Contract: the processing is necessary for a contract you have with the individual, or because they have asked you to take specific steps before entering into a contract.

Legal obligation: the processing is necessary to comply with the law (not including contractual obligations).

Vital interests: the processing is necessary to protect someone’s life.

Public task: the processing is necessary to perform a task in the public interest or for your official functions, and the task or function has a clear basis in law.

Legitimate interests: the processing is necessary for your legitimate interests or the legitimate interests of a third party unless there is a good reason to protect the individual’s personal data which overrides those legitimate interests. (This cannot apply if you are a public authority processing data to perform your official tasks.)

At least one of these basis will apply each time we use or process personal data.

The Blue Kite Academy Trust website and schools within the Trust may at times have links to other websites. The Trust is not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites or organisations and recommends you consult the privacy information on those sites.

Requests must be in writing and will usually be responded to within one month of the date the request is received. Before servicing the request, The Trust will need to verify the identity of the subject making the request and in doing so may require copies of formal identification (eg passport) and proof of address.
